Submit Your Pottery Photos
The first step is to submit a list of your pottery and a few photos of the items. If the collection is large a few representative photographs are sufficient. If you have any additional information on the items such as bottom markings, signatures, physical condition, etc please include that as well. Email works best and allows us to provide a quicker response to you; however regular mail is fine as well. We can be contacted at the following locations:

The Consignment Agreement
After reviewing your photos and listing of items potentially available for auction, we will get back to you with our recommendations for the best way to sell your pottery. If we both believe one of our auctions would be the right place to sell your items, we will formalize the details in our Auction Consignment Agreement which will be signed by you as the owner/consignor of the items and us as the auctioneer.
Before committing to selling your pottery in one of our auctions we can give you pre-sale estimates as to our opinion of the price range your items may fall based on prices realized for comparable items sold in the past where possible. It is important to note that these are opinions of the price that a willing buyer would pay for the property at auction and that actual sale prices may vary from these estimates.
Transporting Your Pottery
Most auction houses leave all shipping arrangements to you. At Just Art Pottery we have years of experience in shipping rare and fragile art pottery and we are available to coordinate safely transporting your collection to our door. Yes, this service includes shipment of jardinières and pedestals, large floor vases, and umbrella stands. We can walk you through the shipping process or if you prefer handle assist with the arrangements.
In some cases we are even able to offer nationwide pickup for large collections. In the past several months, we have arranged safe pickup and shipment of large art pottery collections on both coasts as well as Michigan, Connecticut, and South West Florida.
Insuring Your Pottery
When your pottery is shipped through us or picked up by us it is fully insured from the moment it leaves your hands. The insurance coverage remains on your property until it is successfully received by the purchaser.
Cataloging Your Pottery
Once your pottery is received we will prepare complete descriptions including measurements and an accurate condition assessment. Unlike many auction houses where everything is sold as-is, Just Art Pottery fully guarantees the accuracy of our descriptions. Buyers take comfort in this guarantee and as a result in many cases are willing to bid higher resulting in more money for you as the consigner.
Promoting Your Pottery
After the auction catalog is placed on-line we promote the sale through a variety of online and print advertisements. We send targeted emails to our mailing list of over 4,000 active collectors and dealers of art pottery. Each auction is also prominently advertised on the home page of JustArtPottery.com which is the largest art pottery only website on the internet and ensures your items are seen by prospective bidders.
During The Auction
As a security measure for you, Just Art Pottery requires all bidders to establish credit prior to bidding. By qualifying all bidders we are better able to ensure all bids are valid. During the auction, Just Art Pottery assists bidders with any questions they may have regarding your pottery and is available to provide additional detail on condition assessments. As an added benefit during the auction, phone and absentee bidding is supported for those bidders who prefer not to bid online.
After The Auction
Within three business days of auction, the price results are verified and posted on the website. Within 30 days after the successful sale of your items, your check will be mailed. Included with your check will be a summary of the items sold, prices realized and related fees.
