Spend $2000 in this auction and your shipping is free. Carl Walters Stonelain Vintage Art Pottery Ceramic Duck Figurine Statue Cute and colorful and rarely seen duck sculpture. Excellent original condition. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Normal crazing. Bottom marked with Stonelain logo and Carl Walters. Duck is 6 1/2" tall, 3 1/4" wide and 7 1/2" from beak to tail. Carl Walters started his career as a painter at the Minneapolis School of Fine Arts, the Chase School, and the Henri School of Art. After seeing the Egyptian ceramic ware at the Metropolitan Museum of Art he become a potter and began to experiment with different modeling techniques and glazes. He joined the arts colony at Woodstock during the 1920s and lived in a log cabin, where he created pottery and polychrome sculptures of animals. Mr. Walter passed away in 1955.
