    Ellen Shankin Studio Art Pottery Hand Made Brown Green Ceramic Pitcher. Large and lovely wheel thrown, four sided pitcher in a stunning dark brown and green, wood ash glaze.. Excellent original condition. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.. Bottom hand inscribed with potter's signature and date.. Pitcher is 11 1/4" tall and 6 3/4" wide..Ellen Shankin is a distinguished American potter who has been creating expertly crafted functional pottery since the 1970s. Her pieces are celebrated for their organic shapes, soft, natural glazes, and meticulous attention to the relationship between form and function. Her work has been exhibited in prominent galleries and museums across the United States, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the American Craft Museum, making her a highly respected figure in the field of contemporary ceramics..
