Rare Hugh Robertson vase for Dedham Pottery covered in a lovely iridescent luster red glaze.. Excellent condition. Tiny bruise at the rim with a short and tight hairline. Factory glaze indent to rim and minor glaze skips to body. No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.. Bottom marked with Dedham Pottery and artist's initials HR for Hugh Robertson.. Vase is 8 1/4" tall and 3 3/4" wide.. Dedham Pottery Company was started by the Robertson Family in Dedham, Massachusetts during the American arts crafts movement between 1896 and 1943. It was known for its high-fire stoneware characterized by a controlled and very fine crackle glaze with thick cobalt border designs.
