Exceptional example of the jade green, mottled glaze and "river mark" symbol known in McCarty Pottery. Excellent condition. Minor wear to the unglazed base ring. No other chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Bottom marked with artist's cipher. Jar is 12 3/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide. McCarty Pottery was founded in 1954 by Lee and Pup McCarty in Merigold, Mississippi, where they developed their signature style using locally sourced clay. The pottery became known for its organic forms, earthy glazes, and distinctive "river mark" symbol, inspired by the Mississippi Delta. Over the decades, McCarty Pottery gained national recognition, attracting collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
