- Pigeon Forge Tennessee 1970 Hand Made Brown Wall Art Ceramic Plate Ferguson. Large and one of a kind experimental trial brown wall art plate hand made by Douglas Ferguson.. Excellent original condition. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind.. Bottom marked Bear Clay, G 13A and other marks not fully legible. Artist signed by Douglas Ferguson and dated 1970.. Plate is 2 1/4" tall and 12" wide.. Clean and estate fresh..Pigeon Forge Pottery in Tennessee was founded by Douglas Ferguson, production began in 1947. Each piece was molded or hand thrown and then hand finished. Production ceased in November 2000 with the passing of Mr. Ferguson. The most valuable and collectible of the Pigeon Forge Pottery pieces are those created and signed by the founder Douglas Ferguson..
