Pigeon Forge Tennessee Pottery Matte Black Egyptian Cat Statue Figurine Ferguson Tall and exceptionally detailed statue of an Egyptian cat in a wonderful matte black glaze. Very rare and one of only four made specifically for Douglas Ferguson's officeExcellent condition. No chips, cracks, damage or repair of any kind. Tiny glaze pop near base. Bottom marked with Pigeon Forge Pottery Tenn and signed Douglas Ferguson. Cat is 8 3/4" tall, 3 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" head to tail. Pigeon Forge Pottery in Tennessee was founded by Douglas Ferguson, production began in 1947. Each piece was molded or hand thrown and then hand finished. Production ceased in November 2000 with the passing of Mr. Ferguson. The most valuable and collectible of the Pigeon Forge Pottery pieces are those created and signed by the founder Douglas Ferguson.
